A club with eight teams and no training curriculum doesn't have eight teams with the same identity — it has eight independent projects sharing a badge. The curriculum is the document that prevents that.

What a training curriculum is and why clubs need one

A training curriculum defines which technical, tactical and methodological content each category at the club should work on throughout the season, so a player moving up an age group finds continuity, not a completely different approach.

Structuring it by age group and category

The most practical way to build it is to start from the most advanced youth stage (say, U16) and work backwards: what does that player need to know by the time they get there, and what should have been sown in earlier categories to arrive with that foundation.

From club philosophy to a written curriculum

Club philosophy — how we want the club to play, which principles are non-negotiable — is the starting point, but it needs to be translated into concrete content by age: it's not enough to say "we want a club that plays out from the back," you need to define which drills and which progression teach that differently to a U10 and a U16.

Curriculum vs. season plan: what's different

The curriculum operates at club level, across several seasons: it defines what's taught in each category in a fairly stable way. The season plan operates at team level, for one specific year: it lands that curriculum into specific goals and microcycles for that particular group of players.
