Searching "youth soccer drills" online returns thousands of disconnected results, with no criteria for why one is better than another for your specific group. The problem isn't a lack of drills — it's a lack of criteria for choosing and organising the ones you already have.
How to pick drills by age and skill level
A drill suited to a U10 isn't necessarily suited to a U16, even if it works the same concept: space, number of players involved and rule complexity all need to change. Choosing a drill by age means adjusting those three variables to the group's real level, not just copying what a different age group's team does.
Technical, tactical, and small-sided game drills
A balanced drill library covers three types: analytical (pure technique, with minimal or no opposition), tactical (small situations with a specific objective, like a numerical overload) and small-sided games (closer to the real match, integrating technique and tactics under pressure).
Building your own organized drill library
The key isn't having many drills — it's being able to find them when you need them. Classifying each drill by phase of play, tactical objective, number of players and difficulty level lets you filter in seconds instead of digging through PowerPoint folders.
From a single drill to a full session
A single drill has limited value; a progression of three or four drills increasing in complexity toward the same objective has much more. Saving each drill as a tagged task in your library, instead of a loose image, is what lets you build those progressions quickly — or even generate them with the AI practice planner from a single tactical objective.
